Simon Rouse and James Chant travelled down to CC Weymouth’s first club event of the season to tackle a typical out-and-back course, ie, really fast in one direction and hard work on the return leg.  The rain didn’t help matters either but both were pleased with their times given the conditions, James finishing fourth with 26.39 and Simon placing sixth in 27.28.

Vince Hounsome chose a hard way to start his season by entering the Bournemouth Jubilee’s Hilly 42kms time trial based around a circuit taking in Wool and East Lulwoth.  Vince came home a solid 20th with a time of 1 hour 14.00.

The Severn Road Club were the organisers of Round Three of the WTTA Hardriders championship on Sunday.  Despite his recent defection from the Severn RC to the Wheelers, Simon Rouse was allowed to start, and without having his tyres let down or anything!  Simon did well, covering the hilly 23 miles course in 1 hour 2 minutes 18 seconds, some four minutes faster than his time from last year.  Sarah Roberts also rode this event, finishing with a time of 1.23.22, about a minute slower than 2009.  Unfortunately, Don Tanner was forced to non-start again due to his ongoing illness – get well soon!
