We Need You

As a member club we are always on the lookout for volunteers to assist with the many events we put on.

Volunteering can be immensely satisfying and rewarding and is about helping the Club by giving up just a little of your time or expertise. There are many different volunteer roles and opportunities and we offer a great Volunteer Reward Scheme to say thank you to those who do give up their time! The main areas of volunteering include club management, officiating and marshalling, and ride guiding.

OFFICIATING AND MARSHALLING

During the year the Club organise various cycling events which require officials and marshalls to ensure that they are safe, fair and of course fun. Amongst them we run circuit and road races, time trials and hill climbs, all of which require volunteers to happen. Several of our members are Official Commissaires and Accredited Marshalls and the Club is always supportive of those members who would like to become qualified for these roles.

CLUB MANAGEMENT

For those of you intrigued by the workings of the Club, its activities and operations then club management may be for you. The committee is always interested to hear from people who are keen to contribute.

RIDE GUIDING AND COACHING

The Club is always happy for people to volunteer to guide group rides. You do not have to be the strongest or fastest rider to guide, but you do need to be willing to plan and publish a route and to give directions to members of the group. The Club recently hosted a BC Rider Leadership Course for members and are willing to assist with the cost of members wishing to attend future courses in return for a commitment to guide club rides.

We have several qualified coaches amongst our membership who may be able to assist you achieve your goals. Please contact a member of the committee if coaching or mentoring is of interest.

We Need You! The Club will only ever be as strong and successful as the people in it, and that’s you!  If everyone takes a turn occasionally and doesn’t just leave it to the minority, the Club will continue to grow stronger. For more information contact a member of the Committee.
