Junior rider Josh Day beat allcomers at both the hillclimb and time trial this week, making it four consecutive wins for him.  He set a time of 23.57 at the Wyke 10 to beat Simon Barfoot by three quarters of a minute.  Vince  Hounsome was again just behind Simon in third, with Kim Little in fourth.

Neil Mackinon was second to Josh of the junior riders, ahead of Barney Cox while Rowan Birch pb’d with a time of 29.37, his first sub-30 minute 10.
At the Mere hillclimb on Monday, Josh was just four seconds off of Kim Little’s record with 4.22.  Kim was second with 4.29 while Simon Barfoot and Alex Hookins tied for third on 4.55.

In other events, John Phillips and Chris Mullett teamed up at the Somerset RC 10 mile 2-up tt near Axbridge.  They set a time of 26.00 for 12th.  Ashley Martin and Ben Anstie (Cadence Cannondale) were fastest on 20.44.
Coming up is the Somer Valley CC Open, on June 2nd, at 1400.  This will be a round of the WTTA Hardriders series and they will be using ‘our’ Bruton course this year.  If you fancy having a go up against some of the region’s top time triallists then get your entry form (see CTT website) and £7 to Iain Messider, 45 Witham Friary, Frome, BA11 5HF by May 22nd.
