The trio of Wheelers who competed at the latest round of the WTTA Hardrdider series all came home very happy with their efforts.  Simon Rouse, James Chant and Chris Mullett all recorded course best times and all three took their highest ever finishing positions in this tough competition.  The course was 23 miles of rolling roads around Wootten Bassett and Lyneham with a last mile at Clyffe Pypard that starts steep, gets steeper and then feels vertical!  Simon was the fastest of the three GDW riders, finishing 11th with a time of 1.00.53, a two minute improvement over last year.  James and Chris both knocked three minutes from their previous best times, James getting home in 1.03.41 for 15th and Chris in 1.09.47 (22nd).  Cavalier CC’s Dave Kiddell was the winner in 55.32.

The Wessex Cycle Racing League held their Autumn RR on Sunday.  This is a 58 mile race for 2nd/3/4 cats (this year’s entry featured mainly 2nd cat riders) around Horton and Gaunt’s Common.  Charles Rees, riding for Raleigh RT, was very active throughout the race, chasing breaks and driving the bunch forward and ultimately came home well placed in 9th, 26 seconds behind the winner.  James Gray also rode wel to get 12th, around three minutes down.  A full race report can be seen here
