The latest round of the club championship was held on the Bruton 19 mile course.  Following the highest number of entries at a GDW hillclimb on Monday, 26 riders competed this evening, which is the highest number of entries at a club event on this course.  Conditions were very good and many of the riders recorded course PBs, including the top three.  Paul Hopkins was the winner with a time of 46.37 with Vince Hounsome in second knocking over two and half minutes off of his previous PB with a time of 47.15.    Third place went to Simon Barfoot on 48.15.  Both Vince and Simon lost a lot of time after having to follow a meandering tractor for a while.  Third place went to Simon Barfoot on 48.15.  Richard Weldon and Julian Calloway returned to tt action for the first time this season and were closely matched on 54.11 and 54.20 respectively.  Jane Pritchard had her first go at this course and won the women’s section (60.52) ahead of Sarah Robert, who had a scary experience because of a rear puncture on the fast Druly Hill descent.
