Nigel Brown took his third win of the season at this week’s tt.  It was a close run thing though, Nigel’s time of 23.27 was just three seconds faster than Jay Hookins and nine ahead of Julian Chown.  Kim Little was fourth with Alex Hookins in fifth, both with their best times this year.  It was obviously a good night with several riders recording their best times on this course in 2011, including Pete Humphreys, Mark Geddes, Troy Woolacott while both Sam Wells and Steve Hill improved by over a minute each.

Jane Pritchard improved on her own women’s course record, lowering it down to 26.00.  Jane’s recent fast times has meant that she is now tied in first place with Grahame Reed in the Vets on Standard competition.
The absence of regular pace-setter Josh Day left the door open for a different junior winner, Barney Cox set a pb time on his way to beating Ollie Feltham by 12 seconds.
Ian Matthews and Denise Bennett from Carnegie Caulfield CC in Melbourne both set quick times, Ian with 25.57 and Denise finished with 27.09.
Thanks to Dave and Derek for marshalling at the last minute.  The answer to this is ‘No’ and he won’t be next week either so if you fancy helping out then please get in touch

Next week sees the first time trial on the new Kilmington course, including the climb of Kingsettle Hill.  It’s quite steep.  The HQ will be at Kilmington Home Guard Club which is located on Kilmington Common road, immediately after the turn for Alfred’s Tower.  There is a course map which Mike Smith has put on the website.  It’s on the course map page…
