It’s time for the tt that everyone (?!) has been looking forward to – the new Kilmington 10, featuring the climb of Kingsettle Hill up to Alfred’s Tower.

The HQ will be at the Home Guard Club House, which is immediately after the turn for Alfred’s Tower along Kilmington Common (postcode BA12 6QY).  Usual times, 1900 start so please sign in by 1845.
The clubhouse will be open, we are able to use the toilets there, and of course the bar should anyone wish to celebrate negotiating the hill without getting off their bike.
There is plenty of parking at the HQ, but please do NOT park in front of the hall as the clubhouse will be hosting a skittles match that evening there is a paddock to the side which will be opened up for us to use.
The start is right outside the HQ, with the finish just a little further along the Common at the Butts Lane crossroads – a full lap later, obviously.  Check out the ‘Time Trial Courses’ page for a course map.
Some parts of the course are narrow and fast, there is room for a bike and car to pass but – please keep to the left of the road and HEADS UP!
The descent down into South Brewham is pretty fast and gravelly and into a tight turn, please approach with caution.  I’m hoping to have time to do a bit of road sweeping beforehand here, and at a couple of the junction turns which are also gravelly.
Hopefully, we will have timekeepers at the bottom and top of Kingsettle HIll so we can have a prime prize for the fastest climber and crown our very own King/Queen of the Mountain.
We have been getting lots of offers for marshalling for this week!  Which is great, but don’t be scared, come along and tackle what will probably be the slowest 10 mile course in the West…and the first rider home will be a course record holder!
