The current forecast for Saturday is a dry and cloudy morning with a south westerly wind.
The Pink and Blue routes head south through the Bryanston estate and down the Winterbourne valley to Bere Regis. The Blue route then heads to Milborne St Andrew, Dewlish and Cheselbourne before skirting around the base of Bulbarrow. The home run is through Sturminster, Marnhull and Fifehead Magdalene.
At Bere Regis the Pink route makes its way to Tolpuddle and Puddletown before rejoining the Blue route at Cheselbourne. A possible detour at Marnhull would enable a lunch stop at Todber Lakes.
Meanwhile, the White route heads to Kington Magna, Purse Caundle and Glanvilles Wootton. The return is through Hazelbury, Sturminster and Todber.
Its a 9.00 am start, meet at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.
Also a heads up: 2026 Hill Climb Championship – as last year, we will piggy back onto the Zig Zag event on Sunday 4th October. So sign up early if you want to be the club’s goat!
There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
