Weather for Saturday looks fabulous, sunny with light winds and not baking hot so hopefully the 3 groups will have their riders out in force. Last Saturday the pinks had loads out closely followed by the blues and taking up the rear the whites

The Pink route will head to Bourton, along to Wincanton and past the Newt and on to Sparkford and Queen Camel. They then head west past Yeovilton and skirt round the north of Yeovil through East Coker and on to Yetminster and back to Gillingham via Sherborne and Millborne Port.

The Blue route heads out of Gillingham via Langham Lane, Buckhorn Weston, South Cheriton and and past Yeovilton. They then follow the same route as the pinks.

For both the Pink and Blue groups there is the Village cafe after 55 ish kms in East Coker, or just after crossing the A37 Hamish’s Kitchen or further on there are plenty of options at Sherborne.

Meanwhile, the White route goes to Queen Camel, Mudford over the A30 at Over Compton and returns via Sherborne which is where there are numerous coffee stop options.

Its a 9.00 am start, meet at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.

There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!

Pink Route: 98 kms, 708 m elevation – est speed 28 kmh+ / 17.5 mph +

Blue Route: 96 kms, 677 m elevation– est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph

White Route: 70 kms, 577 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph
