The second of the GDW mountain bike races took place last weekend, with a pair of visiting riders from Rock and Road leaving the rest well behind.  Ollie Taylor set a super fast pace which only his clubmate Julian Grundy could get anywhere near.  Andy Parsons was the only other rider who remained unlapped by the end of the race.  In fourth, and first junior rider, was Lawrence Pitman, ahead of series organiser Vince Hounsome and Sam Willis.  Kian Calloway won the Youth section.

James Chant and Simon Rouse took part in the final round of the WTTA Hardrider series recently, the traditional Bristol South CC hillclimb at Burrington Coombe.  There was a huge entry of 72 riders and a good turn out of spectators on the hill.  James just made it into the top 20 with 18th place with a time of 9 minutes 10.  This was Simon’s first event for quite a while and he finished in 10.29 for 40th.  It was a good day for the organising club, with Paul Jones winning outright, Lucy Walker winning the ladies’ prize and the BSCC taking the team award.
