Round one of the GDW winter series took place on Sunday.  There weren’t many riders competing but they managed to battle their way through the fog and up Whitesheet Hill and complete an enjoyable start to the series.  Paul Hopkins was way ahead of everyone, even with a slight detour.  Scawen Roberts was second and James Chant third.  Organiser Jim Broom was fourth fastest ahead of Chris Mullett who was another who went off course and lost quite a bit of time.  Liam Teesdale was a non-finisher.

Lucy Willoughby had a puncture so it was left to Lynn Broom to set the quickest time of the women riders while Daniel Mason-Rheinshmiedt impressed with his time in the junior category to beat Beth Calloway.
