56 riders took on the early season challenge of the Frome and District Wheelers Open on Sunday.  There was a break from the wet and windy recent weather for the competitors, resulting in some good times.  The 10 miles course is based on the Frome bypass, which was as full of traffic as ever.

Ben Anstie came out on top of the pile, the Cadence RT rider finishing in 20.56, beating Billy Oliver (RST) by six seconds.  Fastest of the Gillingham riders was Stuart Kerton who was looking very low and aerodynamic on his way to a 24.10 for 29th place.  Steve Way was 45th on his fixed wheel bike with a good time of 26.18, with Chris Mullett not far behind on 26.43.  Grahame Reed was 55th with 27.25 while Sarah Wheeler had her first event for a few seasons.  Her time of 30.22 was slowest on the day but did win her the fastest lady prize.
