It wouldn’t be Wednesday if it wasn’t windy. It also appeared than a game involving a ball and 22 players kept a number of riders on the sofa rather than in the saddle this week for round 11 of the series on the 10 mile Gillingham course.
Shawn Gray (23:11) was quickest, though about 30 seconds slower than 2 weeks ago on the same course. Vince Hounsome (26:07) was 50 seconds quicker this time and came home second, just 5 seconds ahead of Innes Wright (26:12) who was 14 seconds faster this week. Gary Francis (26:57) in fourth also improved his time. There was just one second separating Peter Humphreys in 5th and Ed Williamson in sixth. Jilly Wallace was fastest woman.
Innes retains the overall lead from Shawn. Michael Sleeman leads the road bike category, just ahead of Nigel Brown.
Next week is scheduled for the 10 mile Stour Provist course. Sign on is at 6.30 pm (at Stour Provost Community School, Woodville, Gillingham SP8 5LX) with the first pair off at 7.00 pm.
