This Saturday looks to be sunny with a westerly wind.
There are 3 routes on offer, and head all out to Queen Camel via Wincanton, the pink and blue route then skirt the north of Yeovil. The blues then head to Odcombe and then through West Coker where they can stop at the Village Cafe. The pinks meanwhile carry on through Stoke Sub Hamdon and on to Merriott where they could stop at the Feed Station for mid ride beverages. They then head back to Stoford via North Coker where they join the blue route which then goes via Bradford Abbas, Sherborne, Templecombe and Buckhorn Weston. At Queen Camel the whites then route via Marston Magna and Rimpton and on to Great Pit Lane where there have the option of stopping at the Wilde Story cafe or a venue of their choice. Their route then continues through Sandord Orcas, Charlton Horethorne and South Cheriton. All routes meet at Buckhorn Weston and return to Gillingham via Langham Lane.
Meet at 9.00 am at Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.
There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
Pink Route: 104 kms, 870 m elevation – est speed 28 kmh+ / 17.5 mph +
Blue Route: 87km, 694 m elevation– est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph
White Route: 60 km, 636 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph
