Avon Tyrrell House near Bransgore in the New Forest was the venue for the final round of the Southern XC series of the season.  The organisers had come up with a great course of around 6 kms in length which went down favourbaly with the riders, twisting its way through the woods and around the lake in the grounds.

There were some very good results from local riders, with Jerry Cooper taking his second Supervet category win of the season after being pushed hard all the way by Guernsey VC rider Gary Wallbridge.  Paul Hopkins was second in the four laps vets race after taking an early lead.  Paul also sealed second overall in the series.  Nigel Brown was eighth and Andy Parsons 12th, with both taking top 10 positions in the series’ standings.
Kim Little was another who had a race long scrap, this time in the Masters event.  Kim was leading at times and eventually finished in third against some tough opposition and took third overall in the standings.
James Chant had a dreadful start in the 2 lap Fun event, unable to select a gear for a while which left him last and stuck behind riders who had to walk the uphill bits.  James eventually got through to second place.  In the extremely fast junior race, Liam Teesdale rode well to remain unlapped against such a quick field, finishing 10th while Scawen Roberts was very pleased with his 20th position from 55 starters in the Open category.
Thanks to Fizzeek and Southern XC for the photos
