Saturday is forecast to be the first day without rain in 2026 and the sun is due to shine. However, there will be rain on Friday evening followed by temperatures dropping to freezing, and ‘feels like’ temperatures well below freezing. As a result all roads could be icy, but particularly untreated roads and those with an east-west orientatation. If you are going to venture out, be careful. I do not know what roads are and aren’t treated overnight.

Due to the conditions, only one route is planned again. It heads north to Mere and then follows the main road to Frome to avoid untreated roads. The route then heads through Mells to Vobster and back to Nunney, then on to Bruton and back to Gillingham via Hunters Lodge.

Meet at 9.30 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.
