The 2013 Gillingham
and District Wheelers evening Hill Climb and Time trial series gets underway at
6:30pm on Monday 1st April with the Mere Hill Climb up Warminster
Hollow. Riders should meet in Mere car
park for signing on by 6:15pm at the latest. The first evening time trial will
be held on Wednesday 3rd April on the Stour Provost course with
first rider off at 6:00pm from the start at Todber. Riders should meet in the Todber layby for signing
on by 5:45pm at the latest.
2013 will
see the departure from these ‘sunny’ shores of the clubs two long serving time
keepers Mary and Dennis Asplen. The club
is greatly indebted to their support which has helped the evening series become
such a success. This now means that
there is an opportunity for a new local volunteer with an interest in cycling
to help out with the start and time keeping duties, for which the club could
reimburse travel costs. If you are
