A few photos from Sunday’s Gold Hill hillclimb, organised by Colin Dennis of En Route Cycling with a lot of help from Julian and Theresa from Offcamber and a few marshals/timekeepers from GDW .  Haven’t found any results but Barney Cox was flying and came second overall, Josh Day, Kim Little and Alex Hookins were all very fast while Jay Hookins broke a chain near the top.

Elsewhere, Vince Hounsome put in a good ride at the VTTA West Open 50 mile tt on Sunday.  In very hot weather, which led to a riders quickly emptying their water bottles and even had a couple of riders pulling out, Vince did really well for 8th overall with a time of 2.01.23.
The Frome Wheelers Open 10 on Saturday was also really hot, and windy as well.  James Chant was the quickest GDW rider but wasn’t pleased with his time of 24.11 (17th), Grahame Reed did 25.28 (26th) and Chris Mullett finished on 26.06 (30th).  Chris and Pete Humphreys took part in the Bristol South CC road race on Sunday and were both pleased to not have got caught up in a nasty crash involving a few riders who got hit by a passing car and caravan.  Fortunately, none of the riders were seriously hurt.
The third round of the National Mountain Bike series took place at Hopton Woods in Shropshire on Sunday.  Paul Hopkins (Merida) took a clear win in the Vets category, over two minutes ahead of Lewis King (Beeline) after an hour and a half’s racing.  Andy Parsons was 24th, around 12 minutes down on Paul at the finish.  Emma Bradley (AQR-Cotic) finished in last (19th) in the Elite female race.
