There was a record turn out at tonight’s tt of 42 riders, although one didn’t make it to the finish and one other didn’t make it to the start line, hopefully he’s not still riding around Gillingham trying to find it.  There was a record-equalling ride as well, Jay Hookins matching Paul Hopkins 2011 time of 22.18.  Second went to Charles Rees who did two laps as he prepares for the National tt champs at the end of June.  Third went to championship leader Vince Hounsome.

Stephen Hill knocked around two minutes from his pb time, Jim Broom is gradually getting closer to a sub-30 minute time and Charles Daka continues to get quicker each time out.

Freddie Coreth (Salisbury RaM) was quickest junior, with Barney Cox overtaking his dad en route to second.  James Hywel-Davies was third ahead of Rowan Birch and Connor Geddes who knocked a chunk of time off of his previous best.  Maddie Howden took part in her first tt, finishing in 34.43.
Jane Pritchard beat Jenny Lucas by just eight seconds in the women’s category, Sarah Roberts set her quickest time of the season so far.

Thanks to Mike, Ebby, Lynn and Vic for their help tonight, also to Vic, Steve Way and Pete Humphreys who were stood out in the rain until 730 last week waiting in vain for cyclists to appear.

There were several late arrivals tonight – please try to sign in by 1845.
