Vince Hounsome and James Chant took part in the penultimate round of the EDCA championship on Bank Holiday Monday, a 15 mile course on the Upton bypass near Poole.  All of the competitors enjoyed the relatively light winds on the day, though not the low temperatures.  Both Vince and James were considerably faster than last season, Vince over three minutes quicker than 2010 with a time of 34.09.  James improved by two minutes to finish with 35.28.  Both are hoping for similar performances next week as that should see them under the hour in the final EDCA event, a 25 miler on the same roads.

Pete Humphreys competed at Revo Racing’s 50 mile road race on Saturday.  This was a 3rd and 4th cat race held on hilly roads around Rockbeare in Devon.  There was a split in the bunch towards the end of the first lap, which Pete was unfortunately the wrong side of.  Despite some hard work by the riders trying to get back to the lead group, the catch up never happened.  Paul Caton, who has competed in a couple of our recent time trials, came home second behind Adam Atkinson of the 34 Nomads team.
