Both Saturday and Sunday look to be pretty wet, bank Holiday Monday looks better however suggest that each group arrange on WhatsApp which day and time to ride

I have chosen just 2 rides from the rides database rather than plotting new ones. The Whites head up Langham lane, through Buckhorn Weston, Templecombe, Millborne Port and Sherborne before heading SE trough Kings Stag and back to Gillingham via Sturminster Newton and Marnhull. The combined Blue/Pink route heads to Ilchester via Bourton and Wincanton before heading south through Mudford over the A30 and to Sherborne before heading back via Buckhorn Weston. Plenty of options for cafe stops so each group can choose their own if they want to stop.

Meet at Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham at your chosen date/time. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.

There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!

Blue/Pink Route: 81 kms, 726 m elevationPink est speed 28 kmh+ / 17.5 mph +; Blue est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph

White Route: 66 km, 691 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph

If you haven’t done so already, please join the Whatsapp group for your ride:

White WhatsApp group : Blue WhatsApp group : Pink WhatsApp group

For those who have issues downloading their routes, here’s the guide for a Garmin device and here’s the guide for a Wahoo device.

Participation in GDW events is at the rider’s risk.
