After the record temperatures during the week, Saturday will still be warm, but mid 20s rather than high 30s! The breeze is forecast from the south.
The Pink route is heading to Hardy’s Monument (that’s Kiss me Hardy, from HMS Victory, not Thomas Hardy the novelist FYI!), heading out through Stalbridge and down the Piddle valley to Piddlehinton and on to Dorchester and Martinstown. The return is through Sydling, Cerne Abbas, Glanvilles Wootton and Lydlinch. It’s a slighlty longer route than normal.
The Blue route takes almost the same roads to Dorchester, but cuts out the Hardy’s Monumnet loop, instead heading to Bradford Peverell before meeting the Pink route. Again, a slighlty longer route than normal.
The White route heads to Sturminster and Mappowder, then across to Glanvilles Wootton and on to Bishops Caundle, beofre winding its way back to Stalbridge.
Its a 9.00 am start, meet at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.
There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
