And it wasn’t even Halloween, yet 13 of us turned up at Wheels for an evening of cycling away from zombies. Who could last the longest before the zombies swiped?

Cheered on by the group, Shawn Gray stayed away from the zombies the longest at 9 minutes, but a slimline Michael Sleeman won on a weight adjusted basis. Nigel Brown, on the day before an op, powered his way to 3rd.
The efforts may have been short but the word “fun” wasn’t the most common term muttered by those finishing their challenge.
Thanks to Ben at Wheels for hosting the evening and introducing us to this free (yes, you are reading this correctly) and extensive cycling app, MyWhoosh.

The next challenge is a timed 5k run or walk at any time between 8th and 21st December. The parkrun (eg Blandford) is a free way of doing this with others at 9am every Saturday, or just get out of your front door.
With 2 young members attending last night, Jon Rich came up with the idea of a GDW kids winter challenge. Certificates for completers. Please contact wright.innes@gmail.com if you have younger members of your family who would be keen. A preliminary timetable:
