After one of the wettest Februarys on record, March is supposed to be the start of Spring, but there is no Springlike forecast for Saturday! Miguel Herrero seems to have made a good decision popping off to Espana for a number of weeks! Saturday looks like being cold, possibly sleety, possibly wet and the roads will be wet after yet more rain overnight! So just two routes this week for the hardy ones.

Both routes initially head east towards Semley where there is a split with the longer route continuing to Tisbury whilst the shorter route takes a more direct route to Fonthill Bishop. Both routes then track the A303 to Hunters Lodge where the longer route turns north before a windy route to Templecombe and Buckhorn Weston. The shorter route passes through Wincanton on its way to BH.

Please sort your groups out on Saturday morning.

The rides all end at the Old Brewery Cafe and Kitchen for coffee, cake, or brunch.

Meet at 9.30 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshement.

There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!

Next week we will move back to the normal meeting time of 9.00 am, by which time hopefully Spring may have awoken!

Also, a reminder that if you haven’t paid your membership fees they are due now!

Longer Route: 83.0 kms, 900 m elevation

Shorter Route: 62.0 kms, 717 m elevation
