The Rapha Festive 500 returns for 2025, the aim is to ride 500km between Christmas and New Years eve (8 days). Quite a number of club riders over the years have completed this, and this can be completed either virtually or more traditionally on roads. Paddy Dunne in 2014 was 3rd overall in the world and cycled an awesome total of 1740 km.
There will be an Xmas eve club ride to start the challenge off, more details in a few weeks.
Vince Hounsome is also planning his usual Swanage ride – its weather dependent and the provisional date is Sat 27th Dec with a reserve day of Sun 28th. The route heads out via East Stour, Okeford Fitzpaine, Winterbourne Stickland, Bere Regis and Corfe, back via Wimborne, Cranborne, Sixpenny Handley, Shaftesbury – approx 90 miles.
