After a break of four months or so, the GDW hillclimb series resumed this evening with a good turn out of 21 riders.  The expected head wind on the course suddenly died down just before the start and so it turned out to be a good night with several pb times.

Kim Little was at the head of the field as usual, setting a record time on the new short version of the course.  James Hywel-Davies was second and the quickest of the juniors with Charles Rees in third.  Club sponsor Andy Shaw had a rare outing at a GDW meet and did well for sixth.
Sarah Wheeler beat Sarah Roberts in the ladies competition, both setting pb times.
The Mere hillclimbs continue on the 10th, starting at 1830 with the final round on the 17th at 1800.
We also have a new hillclimb event coming up soon, a double header at Bulbarrow on Saturday 13th at 1030.  The first climb will be Woolland hill followed by Stoke Wake hill with the two finishing times of the riders combined to get an overall result.  This will not be part of the hillclimb series but there will be some prizes for the top five overall, top three women and top three juniors and a team prize.
The HQ for this event will be Ibberton village hall, where there will be tea and cake afterwards.  If you are able to help out with marshalling, timing or in the hall then please let me know.
