The sun finally decided to make an appearance for Round 7 of the 2021 Series which was held on the Sturminster Newton 10 mile course. A good sized field of 27 took to the start including a couple of riders from last week’s Try-a-TT (Katie & Gavin) and a number of other new riders.

Shawn Gray knocked a further 4 seconds off his Course Record to set a new mark of 22:36. New junior member Bradley Perkins, was second fastest (23:34) even though riding with a broken shifter, and Nathaniel Brookes was third and fastest non-aero rider. Lisa Dunne, on her first outing, may have been fastest lady, but she believed she took a short cut by accident somewhere on the route, though quite how or where we’re not sure! Angie Barlow was again fastest GDW lady.

Special mention to Geoff Percival who had to ride the last three miles with one leg having managed to detach a crank!
