There are a few tts and mountain bike events on the horizon, the RTTC National Circuit TT Champs will be based down near Bovington this year so offers a great opportunity for local riders to compare themselves to some of the country’s top testers. The event is on Saturday 31st August, entry closes early for this one so forms and a cheque for £15 have to be in by August 6th to Ros Spencer, 13 Alverton Avenue, Poole, BH15 2QF.
TLI have their annual two-up tt event on August 24th at Timsbury near Stockbridge, using the usual hilly 20kms Braishfield circuit. Pre-entry has to be in by the 17th (£8 for members, £12 for non-members), EOL is also £12. Entries to Glenn Longland, 32 Testlands Avenue, Nursling, Southampton, SO16 0XG, entry forms are on TLI’s website.
The next round of the EDCA series is on August 26th, 15 miles on the Poole bypass. Entry costs £5 and must be in by the 12th to J Charman, 37 Sundew Road, Broadstone, BH18 9NX.
The WTTA Hardriders has been on its usual summer break but the next round is coming up fast, on September 1st. This is held on the two lap (26 miles) hilly circuit near Minehead and is very popular with everyone who has ridden it before. Entry costs £6 and has to be in by August 20th, M Needham, 26 North Road, Wilton, Taunton, TA4 4SN.
