Saturday looks like it will be dry but windy. Not a day for the deep section carbons! As usual, there are three routes. The Pinks make their way over Lyons Gate and down past Cerne Abbas to Charlton Down, returning via Piddles hinton and trenthide, then Cheselbourne, Ansty and Hazelbury.
The Blues and Whites go to Templecombe and Milborne Port with the Whites turning for home at Duntish whilst the Blues carry on to Piddletrenthide.
The rides end at the Old Brewery Cafe and Kitchen for coffee, cake, or the White Group’s favourite big late breakfast / brunch.
Meet at 9.00 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshement.
There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
Pink Route: 95.6 kms, 1,046 m elevation – est speed 28 kmh+ / 17.5 mph +
Blue Route: 79.31 kms, 872 m elevation – est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph
White Route: 69.1kms,732 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph
