Barney Cox has been racking up the BC licence points lately and has now moved up to a 3rd category licence.  Barney’s been racing at the Ludgershall/Army CU winter series on a regular basis and has scored second and third place finishes, both results coming in bunch sprints.  You can just about make out Barney in Graham Robins’ photo below, just to the right of the winning rider.

Barney’s first 3rd cat race was at the Omega RC Castle Combe event on March 10th, where he came home in 19th, just behind Yeovil CC junior rider Kurtis Rowe who has also just moved up to the 3rds.  Jay Hookins was also in this race, coming home in 7th in Offcamber colours.
In the Under 14 Boys race, James and Connor Geddes finished in 14th and 15th places.
Unfortunately, both the WTTA Hardriders time trial and opening round of the East Dorset CA tt series both had to be cancelled on Sunday due to the poor weather conditions.  The Hardrider series continues this coming Sunday (24th) with the 24 mile event which is based at Maiden Bradley and goes through Mere and up the GDW hillclimb of Mere Hollow.  Simon Rouse, Grahame Reed, Vince Hounsome, James Foster and James Chant are part of the 70-strong entry so go and give them a shout on the course somewhere.  First rider is off at 9.01.
