After a wet and windy week, the forecast suggests a dry Saturday with a light westerly breeze, so a nice day for a bike ride!

The Pink route will head to Beaminster in darkest west Dorset! It’s a slightly longer and lumpier route than normal, heading out through Templecombe, Sherborne, Bradford Abbas and on past the Sutton Bingham reservoir. The return is through Evershot, Lyons Gate and Kings Stag, with lunch at Spire Hill cafe.

The Blue route follows the same roads to Sutton Bingham and Halstock, but then cuts out the extra loop to Beaminster.

Meanwhile, the White route goes to Milborne Port, Folke, Three Gates, Lyons Gate and back through Kings Stag.

Its a 9.00 am start, meet at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.

Also a heads up for next Saturday, 29th August. Charlotte has a round birthday this month and wants to take a Blue paced ride to Burnham on Sea. They will leave Gillingham at 8.30 am.

There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
