Type Two fun – 20k TT on a bike.

Undaunted, 5 Wheelers took the Tranquil Timid approach indoors (it felt neither tranquil nor timid) whilst Michael Sleeman and Chris Mullett Tackled Tarmac – really.

Michael’s time, for once, wasn’t the fastest (32:39 on the Warminster by-pass) but with the outdoor 20% bonus he made it back to the top of the podium.

The fastest times were, of course, on Zwift. Innes Wright (27:24) narrowly beat Mark Harvey by 3 seconds and Vince Hounsome (29:01) had a 6 second lead over Jon Rich. David Hayter maintained his ever-present status with, as he described it, “a relaxed indoors boo hiss” effort.

Between 19 January and 1 February the challenge is to go as fast as you can over only 400m. To make that bit more interesting, it requires your to do it whilst swimming (probably 16 lengths). Please supply your results as before but be aware that I will be unable to update the results until mid-February (and I’ll have to do the 400m swim this evening).

Results (and schedule) can be found on the GDW Winter Challenge results 2025-26.
