First, a reminder that for the next 3 months, the Saturday rides start at 9.30 am.
After two cold and wet Saturdays, this week the forecast is for heavy rain on Friday afternoon / evening giving way to blustery showers on Saturday morning. For those wanting some fresh air, three routes have been plotted.
The White route heads up to Mere and then to Hunters Lodge and Stoney Stoke before dropping back down to Wincanton and on to Charlton Hawthorne. The return is through Stowell, Buckhorn Weston and Kington Magna.
The Pink and Blie routes take different roads to Mere before heading to Stoney Stoke. They then diverge again but both head to Charlton Hawthorne, Milborne Port and Holwell, returning through Kings Stag and Todber. The Spire Hill Cafe is a possible refreshment stop.
Meet at 9.30 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.
There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
