Bruton – climb straight out of the start and keep on climbing until the top of Druley Hill. It’s the course everyone loves! A cool, cloudy and dry evening but for once it wasn’t blowing a hoolie.
It was noted that one rider took what was considered an unacceptable risk by a marshal, pulling out in front of a large lorry. Please remember there are no prizes, it is a fun competition, and none of the volunteers who put on these events want to end up giving evidence in the Coroners Court. Do not take silly risks!
Shawn Gray (45:01) continued his good form following his 10 mile sub 20 minute PB at the weekend. Sam Thompson (47:27) was second and Michael Sleeman (49:23, and fastest road bike) third. Mark Harvey (54:19, road bike) had a great ride to come home fourth whilst following his illness, Vince Hounsome (55:01) fwas fifth. Jilly Wallace was again the fastest woman.
Round 5 (13th May) is scheduled for the 10 mile Sturminster Newton course. Sign on is at 6.30 pm (at Olives et Al, Sturminster Newton) with the first rider off at 7.00 pm.
