Another warm and sunny Wednesday saw 16 riders start on the 10 mile Sturminster Newton Course. They included new riders Mike Bartlett and Steve Green, and a return for Adam Baker.
Shawn Gray (22:31) came home just faster than Sam Thompson (22:41) with Steve Green (25:22) third and Mike Sleeman (25:26, road bike) fourth. Nine riders posted times of 25 or 26 minutes. Jilly Wallace again was fastest woman. Unfortunately the unwanted fairy paid Hector Rigby a visit so he was a DNF this week.
maintained his excellent form to post the quickest time ahead of Hector Rigby (48:25) with Mike Sleeman (49:07, road bike) not far behind in third.
Shawn looks home and hosed for the overall championship but the race for the podium remains very tight between Vince, Gary and Innes. Mike Sleeman continues to lead the road bike category from Nigel Brown.
Next week is scheduled for the 21 mile Stour Provost course but SGN have been trying to locate and fix a gas leak on the route this week so check for confirmation later. Sign on is at 6.30 pm (at the Stour Provost Communityb School) with the first rider off at 7.00 pm. Slower riders please start first!
