It was another warm and sunny evening on the Sturminster Riviera for round 5 on the 10 mile Sturminster Newton course. A number of riders put in fast times, with some overall PBs and PBs on segments of the course.
Sam Thompson (22:25) just pipped Shawn Gray (22:27), both not too far away from the course record of 22:03. Rich White (23:28) came home third and Gary Francis fourth. Making his first appearance of the season, Nigel Brown (25:17) was quickest on a road bike, ahead of Mark Harvey (26:25). Angela Jamieson was fastest woman ahead of Jilly Wallace.
Innes Wright has a slender lead in the overall, whilst Josh Day leads the road bike category and Jilly Wallace the women’s.
Next week is the annual Try-a-TT (on the 6.5 mile Milton on Stour course) so please publicise this amongst your ride buddies! Sign on at the Bubl Shop in Gillingham at 6.30 pm, first rider off at 7.00 pm. Unlike previous years, points will be awared in the Championship so regular riders should take part too!
