Round up

Ash Martin of Equipe CMI left everyone in his wake at the latest GDW tt.  The 19 year old covered the slightly shortened course in 42.45 on what was an average evening conditions-wise.  Ashley has been racing in the Premier Calendar series this season, racing with the UK's top pros is obviously paying off.  Second went to Paul Hopkins with Yeovil CC rider Kurtis Rowe in third.

In-form Barney Cox was quickest junior ahead of James Howell and Liam Teesdale.  In spite of an off-night for Liam, he has now wrapped up the juniors' tt title this year.  There were no lady riders present this week which means that Sarah Roberts cannot be caught and has this year's championship.

At the Mere hillclimb on Monday evening, Kim Little took yet another win with a time of 4.43.  Jake Coward (Rapha Condor Cycling Club) finished in second with James Chant in third.  Kim can theoretically be caught in the points table still, as can Sarah Roberts in the ladies championship.  The juniors title is still wide open, with Rowan Birch, Liam Teesdale and Barney Cox all in the hunt after Barney set the quickest GDW junior time on Monday.

Vince Hounsome did very well at the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers 50 mile Open time trial on Sunday.  On a windy morning on what can only be described as a sporting course, Vince finished in 2.02.36 for 9th place.  Gary Dighton (Poole Wheelers) was the class of the field as usual, winning in 1.52.46.  The organising club have applied to use this course for next season's National 50 championship.  There are soem good photos of the event on Eamonn Deane's blog here
