Kim Wins Again

Hot on the heels of winning the fourth cat race at Ludgershall last week, Kim Little bagged another win at the weekend.  This was in the second round of the spring Gorrick mountain bike series, with Kim racing in the Masters event at Tunnel Hill.  A fast opening lap gave Kim a 45 seconds advantage and he pulled out a further 15 seconds or so on lap two over Ben Jones (Clee Cycles) in second.  After easing up over the final lap, Kim finished 22 seconds clear after just over an hour of racing.
Nigel Brown was also present, riding for Westbury Wheelers and finishing in tenth in the Supervets category.  Some 500 riders took part across all the races.  Full results here

There was mountain bike racing at Inside Park, Blandford as well, for the latest in the Offcamber-organised series.  Paul Hopkins was the winner, but it took him until the final lap to catch and overhaul rapid 17 year old James Davey who had led from the start.  Jerry Cooper was first in the over-50s category and 19th overall while Liam Teesdale was 21st.  James Chant was headed for 20th place until a last lap saddle collapse.  Josh Day was also a non-finisher.  Eamonn Deane has some photos from the race on his blog.  The final round is on March 17th.

Frome and District Wheelers got the local Open tt scene underway with their traditional early season 10 mile event.  Grahame Reed did well with a time of 26.56 for 46th and John Phillips also had a good start to the season with a 29.03 (58th).  Ben Anstie won for Cycology Bikes, just three seconds ahead of Tejvan Pettinger, in 21.26.  Results here, photos here
