Kilmington TT

posted 27 Jun 2013, 00:02 by James Chant
The club had its annual visit to the Kilmington course last night, the thought of Kingsettle Hill up to Alfred's Tower obviously put a few off as we only had 18 riders this week.  Paul Hopkins was quickest on a windy night, covering the course in 26.21, with a 6.42 time for the hill.  Kim Little was second (27.54) and Vince Hounsome third (28.47).  James Chant and Julian Calloway were the only other riders to get under half an hour.
It was good to see some new faces on the night, hopefully they haven't been put off by such a hard course and come along again.  Thanks to the Home Guard Club for letting us use the car park, and thanks to Vic, Simon and Iain for marshalling and to Roger and Ebby for timekeeping.  No thanks at all to the person who took their secatuers/pliers to the cable ties on the warning signs at South Brewham and took the signs apart.

The final interclub tt also took place last night, a few Wheelers made the trip up to Frome with Matt Thorpe, and the Geddes trio of Mark, James and Connor all getting new pbs so well done to them.  Steve Way and John Phillips were also very clos eto setting new pb times.

At the latest round of the East Dorset CA tt series, there were three GDW riders in attendance.  The event was a 10 miler held on the Poole bypass and run by the Poole Wheelers.  James Chant was quickest of the three, although his time of 23.51 left him down in 34th position.  A minute back from James was Chris Mullett on 24.59 (36th) while James Foster was a little disappointed with his time of 26.19 (47th).  The overall winner was home rider Gary Dighton with 20.27.
