The last two hilllclimbs at Mere have produced very similar results, with Kim Little beating Josh Day and James Chant at both last week's event and tonight's.  Kim has now clinched the hillclimb championship while Josh has won the juniors' section.   There was a good turnout of five juniors at tonight's event, including new member Ben Ryrie.

Mike Smith has been out with his camera on the hill, you can watch his video here from 3 Sept and from the 12 Sept here

Last week's time trial was the final one for this season, finishing with the usual tt for 2-up pairings on the Stour Provost course.  Josh Day and Jay Hookins set the fastest time of 23.11 ahead of Kim Little and Alex Hookins (23.43).  Simon Barfoot and Vince Hounsome took third with 23.59.  Pete Humphreys bravely took the rear seat on his tandem behind Charles Rees, they finished with a time of 23.29.

The handicap prize went to Darren Bunce and James Hawkins, beating their target time by 2 minutes and three seconds.  They were only just ahead of Rob Gale and Julie Hillier (-2.02) and Jerry Cooper and Mitch Pope (-2.00).

Elsewhere, Simon Barfoot and Vince Hounsome both got under an hour for the Poole Wheelers/EDCA 25 mile tt, Vince just quicker than Simon with 57.53 (18th) to Simon's 58.07 (21st).
Chris Mullett took part in the latest WTTA round, a new event to the series run by Minehead CC.  The course was a two lapper for a total of 26 miles, with two big climbs to tackle each lap.  Chris did well to finish in his highest ever position in a WTTA event, 15th with a time of 1.22.10.  Robin Coomber (Chippenham Wheelers) won with a course record of 1.04.24.
