Bruton Time Trial

posted 3 Jul 2014, 10:53 by James Chant
Another lovely evening for cycling, a much more favourable wind direction than two weeks ago meant that there were some good times at last night's tt.  Both the first and second placed riders set course best times, Charles Rees winning in 44.59 with Kim Little next up in 46.17.  Bikeshed rider Ash Martin was third from Vince Hounsome.  Adam Baker and George Smith both had good rides and were the only other riders under 50 minutes.
There were course best times from Mark Geddes and Chris Gray as well, while Jim Broom just missed out on going under an hour with 60.10.
Jane Pritchard was the quickest woman rider, with Jenny Lucas second, getting round in under an hour.  Sarah Wheeler had an off-night and was third ahead of Lynn Broom.
George Smith was the quickest junior with James Hywel-Davies second, with both well placed overall.  James now heads the junior championship which is looking like a tight three-way battle between George, James and Barney Cox.
